Anwar Abdul-Rahman is running for the Etiwanda School District (ESD) Board Trustee Area 5 open seat. As a devoted husband, father of two future ESD students, volunteer coach, and committed community member who helps at local non-profits, Anwar is deeply connected to the Inland Empire.
Having attended K-12 schools in the Inland Empire, Anwar understands the community’s needs and goals. After graduating from Columbia University with a BA in Political Science, he dedicated his career to education. Anwar began as a teacher, instructing multiple subjects in both elementary and middle school. He later earned an MS in Educational Leadership.
Anwar’s leadership journey includes being the principal of a school where he turned around an underperforming institution, significantly increasing proficiency in state exams. As an award-winning principal, he also increased enrollment and student retention.
Now, with over 20 years of experience as an educator, Anwar runs a learning center in Rancho Cucamonga and an education consulting business. Two schools he worked with became California Distinguished Schools. His extensive experience as a K-8 educator and leader will add significant value to the Etiwanda School District (ESD) Board.
